BELIZE CITY – (April 2017) The First Belizean Cyber Security Symposium was organised by the Belizean Government and the Public Utilities Commission this spring. Belizean and regional Caribbean stakeholders attended the professionally organised Symposium: internet and telecommunication providers, financial institutions, law enforcement, the Supreme Court and prosecutors had the opportunity to exchange thoughts on regulatory and legal topics. Together with international advisors from the USA, Dr. Greg Dzsinich (Board Member of CyAN) was also invited to deliver a keynote speech and to take part in numerous panels to discuss the challenges of the Caribbean regarding data protection, IPR, telecommunication and cyber security / cyber crimes. Greg was also asked to support the final round table meeting together with the Supreme Court judges, leading representatives of the government sector and law enforcement in order to develop the main conclusions of the event.
