Sandeep Desai is a board-engaged cybersecurity and technology
executive with 20+ years of experience aligning cybersecurity, IT
strategy, and enterprise risk management with revenue growth,
operational resilience, and regulatory compliance goals across public
and private enterprises. Known for translating compliance mandates
into operational excellence, Sandeep specializes in modernizing
governance, scaling secure systems, and aligning cybersecurity
strategy with organizational priorities.

Currently serving as the first Information Security Officer at the
Arizona Department of Education, he co-leads an infrastructure
portfolio supporting 1.1M+ users. He authored the agency’s first
5-year IT strategic plan, reduced the complexity of cyber tools, and
implemented AI governance policies while protecting program funding.

Sandeep previously held senior roles at Wells Fargo and Intel, where
he has operated in regulated, globally distributed environments,
overseeing cyber and IT risk functions across infrastructure, cloud,
mobile, and ERP ecosystems. He co-founded Allied Therapy, a healthcare
firm that utilizes AI-enabled clinical tools to treat pediatric
clients with developmental delays.

Sandeep is a frequent speaker and educator on cybersecurity, TPRM,
digital ethics, and AI governance. He teaches applied cybersecurity
courses as an adjunct professor and regularly contributes to the ISACA
Phoenix Chapter through conferences and training events. As a CISO
Board Member with Evanta (a Gartner Company), he collaborates with
other technology leaders to set direction for industry-wide security
strategy.
